Hello,
We are running the MDS population for a Person entity via an SSIS package. We have a custom sproc where we have a self join to the table which updates the Manager DBA in order to create the hierarchy and populate the Manager Code. But when it gets to staging it fails with the following error code 210016 - The relationship could not be created because it would cause a circular reference and since this is affecting the top level of the hierarchy and it fails for the top two members of the hierarchy then the rest of the records are not getting processed when calling the staging sproc via the SSIS package.
This occurs when you try to assign a child as a parent, because the two top members in the hierarchy reference each other as the supervisor, which is set up that way in the source data.
What would be a workaround in order to address this issue?
Thanks,
Andrea
