Experiencing are considerable performance degradation of Excel Plug-In after upgrading to MDS 2016 when working with large batches (2012 version had only issues on deletes not inserts)
- Users are trying to publish 50K new records into MDS Entity with around 150K records. (9 columns in the entity in addition to Name and Code, Code values are being auto generated)
- Publishing gets split into 8 or 9 batches and being processed at around 2 minutes per batch
- After 8<sup>th</sup> batch Excel freezes for about 10 minutes
- Then user gets message “... retrieving validation information ...”
- Excel freezes again for about 20 minutes
- Usually by this point
- Excel is completely frozen
- Or user just kills the process
- Or Excel starts retrieving batches and then freezes again

Tried removing business rules - no considerable improvement in performance
