unknown error when jumping to a domain attribute record in the explorer

We have an  enity A  which references the entity B as a domain attribute. Whenever we  we click on the goto icon for that attribute in the detailas pane, we get an unknown error with following details:System.ArgumentException: Content for the URI cannot be loaded. The URI may be invalid.

This happens every time we click the button, but only fot this particular entity.

After a lot of experimentation I ultimately found the reason: the character '#' that is part of our code structure for that entity. As soon I replace the # character by another one, everything works perfectly again.

Does anybody know the reason for this behaviour? Are there more forbidden characters for the code field? Any ideas for solving this (besides replacing that character)? As you can imagine changing all the entity codes that are used also in other systems is not a trivial change.

Manipulating the entity itself works without issues, only jumping to a another screen using that code as a raference goes wrong.

The issue was seen first after we moved from the 2008R2 version to the 2011 version of MDS and I suspect it is related to the silverlight part of the web interface. (asssumption based on similar errors described in MDSN)

Thanks for your help,

Peter
