SQL Server 2008 R2's Master Data Services

i am new to it , wanted to know how can i use it in following situation.

i have two databases, one is entry database where people enter their data,  i have one service which transfers the masters and.

transational data in other database only for reporting. 

      I get some problem in transfering masters, specially performance. so is there any way exists, that master remains in entry database and i get them from both database?
